Legend of Coleman Grey

about

A treatment of the classic Sherwood dirge of a dark knight who durst dareth challenge the forest Fae.

lyrics

There once was a clan
Of Fae in this land
Led by Coleman Grey
And some would tell
These Faeries still dwell
In the forest
Where he was slain

T’was a bitter winter night
When the gloom of moonlight
Laid down upon the old oak tree
Where Coleman was bound
The flames cut him down
To ashes and embers of he
T’was a grizzly dark knight
Who had set out to find
And kill the kind Faerie King
He was vicious and cruel
And determined to prove
His mettle to his Majesty

There once was a clan
Of Fae in this land
Led by Coleman Grey
And some would tell
These Faeries still dwell
In the forest
Where he was slain

The Fae gathered to decide
If this knight should die
For the murder of Coleman Grey
Through tortured tears
And curses and jeers
They agreed upon his fate
Oh they killed his kin
And all his friends
Then marched the knight
Back to his home
And they forced him to feed
In a fabulous Fae feast
A spread of human meat
And bones

There once was a clan
Of Fae in this land
Led by Coleman Grey
And some would tell
These Faeries still dwell
In the forest
Where he was slain

Coleman Grey is gone
But his legend lives on
The knight survived to tell
Of the horrors he faced
For his cruelty and hate
At the hands of forest Fae
